Kaavish is a Pakistani semi-classical and fusion band, co-founded in Karachi in the late 1990s by vocalist/pianist Jaffer Zaidi and guitarist Maaz Maudood. The name “Kaavish” loosely means “effort” or “endeavor,” reflecting their artistic dedication and deep musical aspirations.

Kaavish came together in 1998 (or sometimes cited as 1999) and spent years honing their blend of melodic, lyrical songs rooted in South Asian classical and semi-classical traditions, yet delivered through contemporary arrangements. Comeback, Live Performances & Recent Work
After a period of relative quiet in live shows, Kaavish announced a return to live performance in 2024, much to the delight of fans. Their concert in Lahore was described as their first live show in 14 years, drawing audiences across generations.
